The context.
A ride-hailing backend coordinates changing driver availability, location, booking state, notification delivery, and payment outcomes. My work brings these moving parts into a controlled ride lifecycle for rider, driver, and administrative applications.
My contribution.
- Build modular Laravel controllers, services, queued jobs, and backend APIs for instant bookings, scheduled rides, and opportunity-based ride flows.
- Implement driver assignment using availability checks, distance filters, round-robin selection, cooldown rules, reassignment, and offline-driver safeguards.
- Support scheduled ride reminders, pre-start checks, notification windows, and controlled ride-state transitions.
- Integrate MQTT messaging and Firebase FCM fallback with retries, deduplication, and stale-token handling.
- Build Stripe payment workflows, wallet debit/credit handling, invoicing, dynamic fare rules, stop charges, and cancellation logic.
- Implement route snapping, distance calculations, ETA logic, location tracking, and Google Maps/Mapbox switching.
The result.
- A connected backend across dispatch, geospatial decisions, customer communication, and financial workflows.
- Reusable orchestration and helper layers for complex ride operations.
Real-time software still needs deliberate state transitions. Fast messages cannot compensate for ambiguous business rules.
